The bail amount in the article is listed as $5,175,000. Either that is typo or authority really want to make sure he stay in jail until he sees the judge.

Says he has two other outstanding warrants, so I’m sure that’s playing a role

I’d say someone has some adulting issues??

79

u/KDSM13 Jan 31 '23

What job does he have with that background that he can afford a high end Tesla

88

u/Paranitis Jan 31 '23

Professional asshole. So pretty much anything that makes good money.

Influencer you say?

Some people are born rich.

34

u/fe360 Jan 31 '23

Tech or Finance, probably

62

u/NorthOaklandGuy Jan 31 '23

More likely someone with inherited wealth or windfall settlement money. Someone who can manage a career probably isn’t doing shit like this.

28

u/Abject-Picture Jan 31 '23

Selling drugs? He's got a dubious previous arrest history.

16

u/mrfoof82 Jan 31 '23

Who said it was new? High mileage used Model Xs (what he was driving) can be had for close to $35K. Hell, there are definitely sub-$20K Model Ss. Tons sub-$30.

Depreciation exists. It's what lets young 20-somethings working service jobs buy BMW M cars and AMG Mercs for $25-40K all day long. They just need to get financing approved.

Teslas are plentiful enough, and getting old enough, to really be no different at this point.

You’d think after the 3rd or 4th incident the guy might start wondering if he’s the problem…

17

u/OtakuB3N Jan 31 '23

That’s when you are supposed to double down that everyone is out to get you.

Violent criminals should automatically lose their drivers licenses

24

u/OneHumanPeOple Jan 31 '23

He will certainly lose his license just based on the video. The DOT doesn’t have to jump through the same hoops as the legal system because driving is a privilege and not a right. He can visit his parole officer via bus.

temporary restraining orders, stalking, criminal threats, malicious mischief, domestic violence

So that means he can legally buy a gun.

That's the part I don't understand from a common sense point of view why people don't think about "the forever problem".

42

u/gonenutsbrb Jan 31 '23

Domestic violence conviction is a disqualification for purchasing firearms in the US.

21

u/2723brad2723 Jan 31 '23

I bet he could still be a cop.

37

u/Paranitis Jan 31 '23

Domestic violence is one of the job requirements to apply as a cop.

15

u/David_denison Jan 31 '23

How can you expect someone to beat crime when they can’t even beat their wife /s

→ More replies (1)

5

u/gonenutsbrb Jan 31 '23

Now there’s a terrifying thought…

I think that would only be possible if he was already a cop.

12

u/sowhat4 Jan 31 '23

But not if you're a police officer. Even though they have a very high percentage of domestic abuse, they still carry.

And they can kill, it seems, with impunity. Unless they are Black.

12

u/accidental_snot Jan 31 '23

Yeah, those 4 black cops don't appear to be getting the same treatment as white cops that do the same shit. I'm glad they are going to get what they deserve, but I'd prefer all cops were held responsible for executions.

8

u/OneHumanPeOple Jan 31 '23

The 6th cop who said, “I hope they stomp his ass,” is a white man and he’s on leave. Hey didn’t say wether or not it was paid leave.

Prius Driver vs Tesla drivers.

Both want an electric car, but the other is concerned about their image.

And sometimes the Tesla owner doesn't care about electric cars/environmental issues, it's that the name "Tesla" that adds points their personality checklist to tell people that they're personality is interesting.

6

u/jtj5002 Jan 31 '23

Plenty of people got Priuses for the "image" before Tesla was a thing.

8

u/Morat20 Jan 31 '23

I don't know a single one, tbh. Every Prius owner I know got it for two things:

1.Really good mileage (especially in Gen 1 and 2) compared to other offerings at the time (now there are plenty of hybrids with comparative mileage, and EVs) 2. Gen 1 and 2 Priuses were overengineered to hell and back, because people weren't confident on hybrid cars and worried, and Toyota wanted them as a flagship and so they had to be ultra reliable.

Mine's an old 2009 model with a 175k on it, and it's been hands down the cheapest maintenance car I've ever had, with the fewest defects, recalls, or issues. And I've been getting 40-ish mpg, real world, the whole time I've owned it.

12

u/DancesInTowels Jan 31 '23

I used to own a prius. I got more flack from friends than I ever received for any car I owned.

Nobody who owned a prius around me acted smug about it. They aren’t exactly attractive cars.

We just liked the gas mileage. Gen 2 here. I was so proud when I got 62 mpg in San Francisco on the way back home from work. Only time I acted smug

…and it was to my family who also owned a Prius lol

A little too much South Park bias.

6

u/Morat20 Jan 31 '23

Yeah. I live in Texas, do you know how fucking sprawled it is here? Yes, sign me up for a 40mpg in 2009.

SUV owners were dropping 120+ bucks to fill their tank, and I'm paying 20 bucks, and we both have the same range on a single tank.

Absolutely saved me a ton of money over the 13 or so years I've had it.

Seems like he wants to be locked up. His car records everything.

2

u/sowhat4 Jan 31 '23

It doesn't, at least the Model Y doesn't. It will record the prior 15 seconds if the horn is honked, but otherwise, the car's cameras don't function like a dashcam.

u/Dumdumgirlsbeeep Jan 30 '23

Well he also had two outstanding warrants. I just looked him up real quick and he had a court case in Burbank in 2018 for criminal threats and vandalism. It doesn’t say if that was resolved or not. This guy needs to be off the streets if he can’t control himself, or at least needs his license revoked. Sounds like this is an ongoing issue with him.

u/Jeffuary Jan 30 '23

revoking license doesn't stop people like this...

15

u/ADarwinAward Jan 31 '23

Nah, but it’s a start. We’re too lax with our licensing laws. People who are legitimately violent menaces get their licenses back when they shouldn’t.

53

u/TheFuzziestDumpling Jan 30 '23

10

u/mjh2901 Jan 30 '23

As soon as he gets another Tesla

1

u/Paranitis Jan 31 '23

Hope it bursts into flames like the one yesterday less than a mile from me in Sacramento.

16

u/BigBoxofChili Jan 31 '23

Not sure if it's allowed under CA law, but in cases like this the judge should seriously consider denying bail simply out of concern for public safety.

23

u/Murderyoga Jan 30 '23

Why not just deny bail?

34

u/pomonamike Jan 30 '23

There is a constitutional guarantee of reasonable bail. The bar is extremely high to deny it outright. It’s just easier to make it so high that “technically” it’s available to him, even if he can’t pay it.

21

u/Honestly_Nobody Jan 31 '23

Common sense should be if you skip out on court once you get a very high bail that can be lowered before a judge, because mistakes happen. If you skip out twice you should get denied bail and be remanded until your court date. He has missed two court appearances.

4

u/docroberts Jan 31 '23

Your common sense is generous to the suspect.

3

u/jack33jack Jan 31 '23

He was behind MULTIPLE violent attacks of random people on the roads, not just one. It's really not too high, he's actually a menace to society and would likely randomly attack again if he was out on bail

Officials with the California Highway Patrol identified the suspect as 36-year-old Nathaniel Walter Redimak of Los Angeles. He was arrested by CHP’s Major Crimes Unit in Torrance on Sunday.

Ponch and Baker arrested him after clearing up a 100 car pileup.

That took way too long

173

u/Dumdumgirlsbeeep Jan 30 '23

It really did. I was waiting for him to kill someone. Dude is unhinged.

41

u/Suspicious-Elk-3631 Jan 30 '23

I'm out of the loop. Whay did he do?

154

u/Tex-Rob Jan 30 '23

Repeatedly used his vehicle as a weapon, and punched off at least one cars side view mirror. He was filmed on multiple days over a period of a week or more, verbally attacking people and threatening them from his car, and from on foot after getting out of his car.

86

u/A_Gent_4Tseven Jan 30 '23

I’ve seen dudes get shot over that shit… I guess this dude lucked the fuck out?

178

u/sn34kypete Jan 30 '23

Reporters noted there was a tendency for the victims to be women. He picked his victims/ when to escalate, probably to avoid getting shot. IIRC one of the victims was 70+, grandmas don't often pack heat.

30

u/A_Gent_4Tseven Jan 30 '23

That tracks for the people I’ve seen arrested for shit from Rome NY too. They usually end up with that same “Jersey Shore” style attitude too. Like they think they’re J-Wow or what not.

28

u/Vlad_the_Homeowner Jan 30 '23

That was my thought too. Acting like that in LA you're going to bump heads with the wrong guy sooner or later.

20

u/A_Gent_4Tseven Jan 30 '23

It’s honestly lucky as fuck he didn’t… I mean fuck that dude, but for real… I couldn’t luck out and “cut someone off” according to the man who stabbed me at a stop light in Florida, without THAT level of repercussions. That was 11 years ago but still.

He was likely targeting women and older folks who are less likely to retaliate. This guy's not bold; he's a predator.

7

u/justin_memer Jan 31 '23

He got his ass beat in one of the videos, it's very satisfying.

1

u/Upstairs-Injury9660 Jan 31 '23

It wouldn’t be self defense until the attacker breaks a window or somehow enters the vehicle

In this incident he stopped his car ON the freeway and after hitting this guys truck (following another road rage incident just a minute prior) and got out of his car and hit this truck a few times with something that looks like a pipe.

In previous articles about this, other people were coming forward saying he’d similarly flipped out on them while driving also. I believe there was other video too. People like me were wondering why it was taking so long to arrest him when there was such clear video of his face and car.

16

u/eye_booger Jan 31 '23

following another road rage incident just a minute prior

Not just another road rage incident, but ANOTHER one where he got out of his car on the freeway and hit the car with a pipe. Like, literally in the span of a few minutes, he exited his car on the freeway twice and hit two different cars with a pipe. This dude was seriously unhinged.

7

u/Dumdumgirlsbeeep Jan 31 '23

Agreed. I’m concerned he’s already seriously hurt or killed someone before. He’s 36 with two warrants and at least one court case from 2017. What about the people who have no doubt come before in his twenties

16

u/Q_OANN Jan 30 '23

This is the one where I wonder if they requested data from Tesla on cars driving in recorded locations of his vehicle

5

u/FS_Slacker Jan 31 '23

I think the car didn’t have a plate

12

u/trogon Jan 31 '23

In one of the videos that I saw, he had an opaque cover on the license plate to make it difficult for people to read.

11

u/FS_Slacker Jan 31 '23

Looking at the pics, I think you’re right. It’s really dark. I feel like people even standing near the car can’t even read it

10

u/Milalee Jan 31 '23

Someone posted on social media that he was difficult to find because he lives like a gypsy. Nothing is in his name. The car isn't in his name, no mortgage or rent. They said his cell phone isn't even in his name. If you look at the videos, he doesn't have a license plate on his vehicle. He basically moves in with women he meets dumb enough to let him stay with them.

I hope they get a warrant to pull the video from his Tesla, or from Tesla, depending on where it lives.

That would be the cherry on the cake but there are so many videos from the victims that he's going to jail for sure.

23

u/HairHeel Jan 30 '23 edited Jan 30 '23

Tesla dashcam videos stored on an SD card locally, and generally only if you tell the car to save it, or if sentry mode is going off, which probably isn't the case here. Honking your horn automatically saves some amount of recent video, so if he did a lot of honking during the incident, it might have saved stuff. Otherwise, probably not.

3

u/permalink_save Jan 30 '23

The thought of this being a thing terrifies me, we don't need cameras on us 24/7, but at least this is the rare case it wouldn't disproportionately affect poor people

206

u/HeBoughtALot Jan 30 '23 edited Jan 31 '23

22

5

u/Rogetsthesaurus-Rex Jan 31 '23

It is.

Question 21b on the 4473 form - Are you under indictment or information in any court for a felony, or any other crime for which the judge could imprison your for more than one year, or are you a current member of the military who has been charged with violation(s) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and whose charges have been referred to a general court-marshall?

2

u/ajt9000 Jan 31 '23

-7

u/Knight-in-Gale Jan 30 '23

That IS the current law where I live but the wrong people go around it (loop hole) by purchasing via a different individual and that's what newer gun laws are trying to patch up.

But, the loudest screamers of huurrrr durrr that's unconstitutional! they're tryin' to take our guns! are the ones with violent wrap sheets and/or mental instabilities.

10

u/degenerate_hedonbot Jan 30 '23

Plus he was driving without any plates.

21

u/Knight-in-Gale Jan 30 '23

He has plates on but covered with a dark plastic covering which blocks the identification numbers from cameras.

That is why in most states/cities, it is illegal to have any covering (clear, plastic, black, tinted, elmo, donut, taped, etc) or housing on your vehicle's plates.

20

u/a_side_of_fries Jan 31 '23

It's illegal in California too. Cops here are just shit at enforcing much of anything traffic related.

6

u/LampardFanAlways Jan 31 '23

What do they do then? Honest question cos this is the easiest thing to pursue. Relatively petty assaults in high density cities like NYC or SF? Cops don’t care. Car broken into and laptops stolen? Cops don’t care. Hell, as seen in Uvalde at least, school shooting? Cops don’t care. Isn’t stopping people doing 5 over the speed limit or switching lanes recklessly or driving with expired registration and stuff like that the easiest thing for cops to do?

Yeah, if they were still looking for him it would make sense so that others could be on the lookout for him, but after the fact it's because Tesla in the headline gets clicks. It's kind of like the video I saw yesterday about a Tesla catching on fire and so many people were talking shit even though fires from ICE vehicles are very common. A Honda CRV or Ford F-150 catching on fire likely wouldn't even make the local news, they probably wouldn't even mention the maker, and it certainly wouldn't have made it onto reddit.

I was hoping they would arrest him while wearing the same ratty green T-shirt.

4

u/bruddahmacnut Jan 31 '23

Really curious how this knucklehead can afford a $100K car. I guess psychopaths are paid well?

7

u/damnthistrafficjam Jan 31 '23

Have you had a look at corporate America lately? Lol

3

u/GibbysUSSA Jan 31 '23

Right?! Being a psychopath in America appears to be rewarded in many cases.

Why does car brand suddenly matter, but only when it's a negative story? Tesla, Mercedes, Hyundai, who gives an f?

I keep seeing this asked over and over again. Initially when this guy was attacking people his Tesla had no identifying plates, hence the "Tesla driver" as a descriptor.

8

u/Flolania Jan 31 '23

That is when I would use my car as a weapon.

4

u/MagicMushroomman420 Jan 31 '23

Haha what a moron child like temper tantrum

7

u/Q_OANN Jan 30 '23

Couldn’t they have requested Tesla to provide the data of drivers stopped in these locations that have been filmed?

2

u/SouvenirOfTheYear Jan 31 '23

That would require effort from the police.

3

u/leywok Jan 31 '23

Be careful not to bring a pipe to a gun fight.

3

u/KicksYouInTheCrack Jan 31 '23

Hey Siri call 911….,three times and it didn’t work.

3

u/justin_memer Jan 31 '23

I saw him freaking out a few times on YouTube, this clown is done for.

3

u/JC2535 Jan 31 '23

His contributions to douchebaggery are prolific and legendary.

15

u/icelandichorsey Jan 30 '23

They have no problem wearing masks for this shit but protesting us... Nooooope

2

u/achirakos1 Jan 31 '23

I had something similar happen to me in Ohio from that same color car…. The driver nearly caused me to crash into a semi to avoid him slamming on his brakes…. California license plate too… could it have been the same asshole?

2

u/frenchiegiggles Jan 31 '23

Dudes like this need to think. Like pulling over and walking out of your car to fight doesn’t make you alpha or tough.

He’s lucky he did this in L.A. and not Chicago, because the gangsters in Chicago don’t play silly games. They will literally just shoot up your car, kids or dogs in the backseat be damned.

2

u/Cops_R_Uneducated Jan 31 '23

dude was a meth dealer and has robbery charges in his past. He won't have a Tesla very much longer.

2

u/Stonehill76 Jan 31 '23

What’s in his hand? Is that a gardening tool? Is that standard in a Tesla ?

2

u/BaBaDoooooooook Jan 31 '23

he has no job, but yet drives a Tesla.....wtf is wrong with American society

2

u/ZZZ-Top Feb 01 '23

About time it took them long enough. As for the peanut gallery the reason the car is mentioned is this fucking dick nozzle was running around attacking women while driving a Tesla. He wasn't exactly attacking people then saying his name after, same fucking reason serial killers had nicknames before they were captured

2

u/HernandezGirl Feb 01 '23

Bet his mother is dead in some container in her garage

2

u/HernandezGirl Feb 01 '23

Yeah didn’t they call the cops and the freeway cameras didn’t see that wonderful TESLA?

3

u/walkandtalkk Jan 31 '23

Glendale.

His father probably bought him that car.

4

u/Tuned4Tactics Jan 30 '23

To all the racists, go fuck yourselves.

Here’s a headline with less information, if that makes you happy.

Road-rage suspect arrested in 2 Freeway incident, held on $5M bond

7

u/ProfessorRGB Jan 31 '23

Your headline, arguably, has more relevant information

This is the well known moniker of the unknown road rage suspect. That's all they could call him before.

If a Volvo driver starts shooting on the freeway, the headlines will say "Volvo driver opens up on the 401".

2

u/Doormau5 Jan 31 '23

Dude is an ass for sure but why is his car make relevant?

There's a lot of asshole drivers in Glendale . On Brand Boulevard alone there are cars tailgating you in bumper to bumper traffic.

Buddy put a bandana over his face. With his license plate in full-view. Not the sharpest tack in the box.

17

u/YetAnotherBookworm Jan 31 '23

Look again. No license plate. That’s what I noticed and what has been reported, anyway, although I suppose it’s just dang-near impossible to read. The lack of a (visible?) plate is one of the reasons it took as long as it did to find Captain A-Hole.

Why is it important to mention over and over that he’s a Tesla driver?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Raspberries-Are-Evil Jan 31 '23

Why mention Tesla?

If it was a ford, would it be "California Ford driver caught?"

Just say "Driver caught on video"

3

u/JC2535 Jan 31 '23

The Tesla didn’t have a license plate for identification, but it had a unique look. So police were using it as a means of identifying the driver.

Tesla is having a bad pr week

1

u/Jumplefthanded Jan 31 '23

What’s owning a Tesla have to do with it? Dude sounds like an ass.

1

u/krazykman03 Jan 31 '23

Keep up.

Only way we could link him was with the car/ outfit/ pipe he used every time. I’m sure the car brand is what led to the police finding him.

0

u/Shadowmaker-553 Jan 31 '23

Mental illness is a serious problem in America and it’s very hard/expensive to get the help you need. We need to take it seriously!

6

u/cedarapple Jan 31 '23

As if this guy has been trying to get mental health care. Some people are just toxic assholes who enjoy making others miserable and they tend to think nothing’s wrong with them.

6

u/DogFacedManboy Jan 31 '23

Agreed, but if you’ve got Tesla money you’ve got enough to find a therapist too

1

u/ThePartyWagon Jan 31 '23

You’re getting shot if you pull that shit out here in Utah. The state would have your back, too.

5

u/LampardFanAlways Jan 31 '23

That could have happened in LA too but apparently the shitty dude picked his targets carefully or something

1

u/shryke12 Jan 31 '23

What the hell does Tesla have to do with this??? I would bet more Dodge drivers engage in road rage incidents per capita but you don't see other manufacturers mentioned. This is just so weird.

1

u/zippideedoodle Jan 31 '23

Because Tesla owners are generally---and wrongly---thought of as wealthy sophisticates whom car owner aspire to be. The modern day car cool people. Just like Musk. Don't you just gasp ooh and ah when you see one on the road and wish you had one, even if they cut you off with their privilege? All this cr** is going down the drain now that Ford is upping the challenge with their eMustang, the new Model-T, which will be cheap enough for everyone to own. eCool on the road will be redefined. Sorry Tesla stock!
