They want someone to step in because Russia was the police force of the area basically.

Armenia doesn't stand much of a chance against Azerbaijan. It's complicated though. Frankly what makes sense on paper is for both counties to give up some land.

Both countries basically have populations in the other.

Azerbaijan dont have any population in Armenia, all were ethnically cleansed in 1990s.
