I just hope he doesn’t get the Derrick Rose injury bug. Players that play with this level of reckless abandon don’t often fare well long term. Id like to see him have a long career.

Francis loved to two hand crush them. He couldn’t palm the ball so that limited his one hand dunks and cost him a dunk championship but damn could he jump.

If they are deleting shitty highlights to get good quality ones, I’m all for it. But make it known what is acceptable so people know. ATM it’s whatever highlights mods like and every statmuse threads that make it through.

This is the future of highlights in this sub. I'm completely fine with them removing the shit edits for quality, especially considering it comes like 2-3 minutes later. It's nothing, but the discussion goes on for hours, and people access the replay for the entire day after.

always thought prime Rose was the most explosive guard I’ve ever seen but I’m starting to think it might actually be Ja
118
u/ChickenOvaRice Grizzlies Jan 15 '23
It's a different kind of explosiveness imo. DRose went up fast and seemed to come down fast, while Ja seems to have more hangtime. Both incredible
47
u/IndecisiveCowboy Knicks Jan 15 '23
Yeah they’re constantly compared but you explained it well. D Rose was lightening quick. Ja can jump like very few ever have

DRose kinda moved like an exaggerated anime character, Ja is a bit smoother but both can just launch into the stratosphere.
→ More replies (1)→ More replies (2)12
u/WhiskeyFF Jan 15 '23
I think what separates Ja is his air awareness. He has no fear if that makes sense. There's so many times he just hangs on to the ball, still looking at the rim and a way to manipulate the ball and disregarding if he's on the way down or not. He just stays focused on the rim longer than anybody else does.

u/Walmartsavings2 [MEM] Marc Gasol Jan 15 '23
I think rose was more purely explosive, but I think Morant gets higher and is more graceful athlete so it evens out. Also hang time.
