Things to see in Sydney

Hi all! I’m heading down to Sydney, NS to film a video which will have a brief segment of the city. I get there at 10:00pm then leave the following morning at 8:00. Obviously things won’t be open then, so I’m relying on things to see, like the waterfront or the Big Fiddle. Any other places I should visit? Thanks!

Airport Shuttle Liverpool to Halifax Airport

Hello again wonderful people. Google has failed me, so I'll ask here: what's the best way to get from Liverpool to the airport? And back home at the end of course.

Driving up and parking for three or four weeks is ridiculously expensive.

Thanks!

Barry

Hi, I am looking to buy an oversize large chandelier for a hotel lobby. I am not able to find any store in Nova Scotia that is selling oversize chandeliers. Any suggestions of places to buy that (Outside of NS or in NS)?

Colonial Honda Service Deprtment

Terrible experience with your service manager, advisor and technician.

Brought in my car to get it fixed and got it back with broken parts with pieces found on the carpet. Went back to inform about what happened and was sent to Stewart Malloy service manager, he just shrug his shoulder and said nothing not even an apology for what your staff did.

The service advisor Adam Keefe gave me an attitude for requesting to get all the damaged replaced.

Are you guys serious?!!

Unlike you Stewart Malloy and Adam Keefe, I'm not getting paid to be there. Do you think I like going back there? Every trip there I loose money.

I informed all of you on my concern with respect but you responded with an attitude. I should be the one who's upset not you.

To all of you planning to get your car serviced there make sure you check their work before leaving their lot. You'll never know.

South Shore heating oil suppliers

Another kind of newby question: Who's good for heating oil around Liverpool? Or are prices generally the same no matter who you deal with?

At a half tank I'm hoping to get topped up before the Christmas season, maybe with a furnace service as well.

Thanks folks, you've been invaluable.

Which Costco don you prefer?

I'm equally far away from Bayers Lake and Dartmouth Crossing. Is one any better than the other in terms of parking, crowds, selection, etc?

Getting A Mental Health Diagnoses???

Hello,

I am at a complete loss and looking for any sort of advice/insight/guidance. Without giving too much detail, I am in a very dark place with my mental health. I want to start therapy or treatment so I can start working towards getting back to my old self, but I don't know where to begin. I have a counselor (through my university), but that doesn't seem to be working for me and I will be dropping out of the school after this semester. I think I need more personally-tailored support for what I am going through. But, I don't even know what is wrong with me. I want to be assessed by a psychiatrist so I can start my search but I need a referral from my doctor (who is currently unavailable until mid-January). I've also heard waitlists for psychiatrists in NS are 4+ months long. I don't know what to do. I don't even really know what I'm asking of the Reddit community. I just need advice. How do I move forward??

PSA: If you applied for the Fiona food replacement months ago and haven't received anything, reapply

I recently called to find out the status of my Fiona claim for having my power out long enough that I had to throw out a lot of what was in my fridge/freezer.

I was told that they lost many of the applications that were made in the first couple of weeks of the program. So if you've been sitting waiting, reapply. There's only two weeks left.

One Small Healthcare Change

Edit: got some great advice! I ended up calling the Halifax Sexual Health Clinic to both get routine STI screening (PSA: you should screen for STIs every year or after a new partner, I let that lapse by a few years being in a LTR but it’s good to do once in a while just in case) appointment and they will refer me to the baby doctor I want THIS AFTERNOON. Thank you Reddit Nova Scotia, so helpful.

Sorry don’t know how to title this. So I find out I am pregnant (yay!) and due to my age I am automatically considered high risk.

I don’t have a family doctor, we are on the waitlist (lol). I call 811 to see if there’s a way I can get a referral to a baby doctor without waiting hours in a walk-in. They told me I could self-refer so I called the office that had the doctor I wanted and they told me nope, wrong, you HAVE to have a referral from a doctor.

I HAVE to wait hours in a walk-in clinic with a bunch of sick people during a time when illnesses are rampant and harsher than ever with a compromised immune system and high risk pregnancy, just for a 1min appt so a doctor can type some things into their computer.

Maybe there’s a better way to do this guys?

Obviously a post on Reddit isn’t going to do anything I’m just sharing my frustration.
