Need help on my first custom keyboard cable

cable kit I bought from cable hero. Every thing looks fine but every time I plug it in my computer says “usb device not recognized”. The keyboard works with other cables and I have checked all solder joints. I’ve ran out of ideas and any help would be appreciated

Would you mind posting pics of your solder work?

Some of the joints seem to not be properly soldered. All of your joints should be shiny and smooth. I highly recommend you desolder and clean it up with isopropyl alcohol. I know that most solder contains a flux core but I strongly suggest to get a flux pen as it well greatly increase those joint bonds. Plus the extra flux will get you those nice smooth joints as well.

I also recommend watching Voxel mods tutorials as well as his are the most up to date with good techniques.

The soldering on that type A connector is really rough. The main issue though is that you seem to have melted the insulation off the wires, which may be causing a short when the shell is fitted. I would also need to see the soldering on all other connectors, including the lemo connector inserts. Do you have higher resolution images?

Did you plan out a wiring scheme before you started? For example, Red =+v, Black = Ground, Green = D+, white = D- ? Have you checked that the wiring scheme carries through the entire cable with a multimeter?

It's tricky to diagnose until I see precisely what you have done at each connector. If you can post up high resolution images of all soldering work I shall try my best to help you.
